Airkayaks.com Announces Windpaddle Adventure Sail Giveaway and Donates a Complete Advanced Elements Inflatable Kayak System to Local Cause

Clear Lake, CA (PRWEB) July 22, 2011

It has been a busy few months for Air Kayaks. With the recent launch of their new eCommerce website in April, AirKayaks has been able to successfully convert many of their customers to eCommerce customers. This has given co-owners Holly Harris and Chuck Lamb extra time to give back to the community and ensure that their business is socially responsible.

?At AirKayaks, we feel that social responsibility is an important part of any business. There are many ways to be socially responsible; our course is to volunteer time and money for local projects that we feel will benefit our community, county government, local businesses and the environment,? said Harris.

Last month, AirKayaks donated an Advanced Elements inflatable kayak system to the 1st Annual Cattails & Tules Wine Pairing Fest, a fundraiser for Konocti Regional Trails (KRT) system and Anderson Marsh State Park Interpretive Association. The event was sponsored by the award-winning Vigilance Vineyards and Gregory Graham Wineries, in Lake County, California. The event also featured the launch of Lake County?s first vine trail, The Red Hills Terroir Trail, connecting the two wineries via a vineyard pathway.

?We have been a part of the KRT trails team since its inception in 2008, and to-date have launched the popular Clear Lake Water Trails, a series of seven paddling loops on Clear Lake in Lake County, California. We are thrilled our local wineries and vineyard owners are jumping in to help our community develop more outdoor recreational opportunities, and hope others will do so too,? said Lamb.

This summer, AirKayaks is giving their customers an opportunity to win a Windpaddle Adventure Sail, a downwind sail for kayaks and canoes. To join the fun, visit http://www.AirKayaks.com and sign up for their newsletter. One lucky winner will be chosen on Labor Day, September 5th, 2011.

Folding Kayaks

Kayaking is one of the best sports around. It’s exhilarating and is not only a sport; it’s a great way to exercise and to stay in shape. Kayaking involves a kayak, which is a small boat usually fitted for one person. However, there are kayaks that are made for two people, and some made for up to four. When looking at kayaks, you will usually run into three different types. You will see inflatable kayaks, rigid kayaks, and folding kayaks. If you’re new to kayaking, you may not know which one is best for you. However, when looking at all three options, folding kayaks are one of the most versatile types.

The first folding kayak was created in 1907 and soon became extremely popular around all of Europe and eventually world wide. Many people will purchase folding kayaks because they want kayaks that they can take with them on vacation, or that can easily be stored for a weekend trip to the lake.

Folding kayaks are like original kayaks of ancient times because of their skin-on-frame construction. They are strong, durable, and sturdy and are made for sporting and recreation.

Folding kayaks are made with wood and sometimes aluminum, in addition to having a hull made of a durable, sometimes laminated, fabric. In any case, most folding kayaks are lightweight and are made in a way so that they won’t sink easily. Folding kayaks usually have air pockets, or inflatable sponsons, within the design to make it harder for water to overtake and sink the boat.

The best thing about folding kayaks is that they are durable and can be stored easily in your home and in your car. You don’t have to worry about spending extra money on a place to store your kayak, since you can easily take the kayak apart and store it where necessary.

Since you can store them so easily, you do not have to worry so much about your kayak being damaged due to improper storage.

Some of the most modern folding kayaks are made with a sleek design that makes them faster and narrower. This makes it even more fun to use a folding kayak.

However, some people may question the sturdiness of a folding kayak because of its name. However, these kayaks are just as sturdy, safe, and secure as rigid kayaks. They are used all over the world, even in some of the most dangerous waters, as well as on long treks.

If you’re new to kayaking or you’re looking to upgrade your old kayak, definitely consider a folding kayak. They are lightweight but still sturdy, and can be taken almost anywhere. You can store them easily and not have to worry about spending more money to purchase a locker to store it in or leaving it in an unsafe place that may cause damage to it. You will find that folding kayaks are a little bit more on the pricey side, but the extra money is definitely worth it. In the end you’ll save money as you won’t need to rent a bigger car to fit your kayak or rent storage for it.
